Rakhi at Santi Niwas and Mentaid

Our visit to Santi Niwas-The old age home was from 6:30pm. We were very happy tie rakhi’s to the inmates and give them sweets, who with our presence were overjoyed. The authorities as usual were very co-operative and appreciated our work which we have been carrying out for many years now. Our club president and secretary were also presented with “Magic Cross” by the inmates and they were ecstatic throughout our stay.

Due to heavy rain, classes at Mentaid-a school for special children were called off on 13th Aug and hence we had to visit the school on the 16th of August. The day started on a very positive note at “MENTAID”, on the 16th August, 2011. With our arrival into the school the teacher in-charge gave a brief history of the school and took us the students. When we entered the students started singing for us with teacher’s co-coordinating them. We also acknowledged them gave cakes and chocolates to them. We enjoyed to the fullest with by reciprocating the affection we received. We got a wonderful support from Ann Ranjana aunty in coordinating the event in the school. The school has two branches and we visited both in new Alipore and in Behala, with Behala being the first one. The teachers thanked us all and we bid goodbye to them with a promise to meet soon

Due to heavy and un-called for rain we had to cancel our visit to Calcutta Blind School and we regretted the fact gravely.
